#lofipostershow 2021: The Pop Up Art Show

The second instalment of #lofipostershow ran this winter 2021. We look back at the incredible work and responses of the show in this article.

Supplying artists with opportunities to have their work shown is paramount. In a city like London, we are graced with an abundance of creative people and locations to show and sell our art. Not to say it can’t be tough but creativity gets things going and gets people together. What more to like?

#lofipostershow ran for the first time in 2020 with a few photographers having their work blown up into 60 x 40 ” and placed onto external panels. Having pedestrians sneak a peak created a conversation. This year, we carried it on but even bigger.

We got 17 artists together including international artists. 17 posters were printed and travelled around London to be placed onto panels with magnets for the world to see. Starting at dawn and working through the day, we placed the art on several different panels that complemented the work. We took pictures and thus the project commenced.

This year, we created a five-day exhibition/pop up show where art admirers and photography aficionados could come and appreciate the awesome posters that surrounded the room. On the preview night, everyone was treated to a sea breeze cocktail, wine, beers and ciders. You name it.

With a fire pit outside in wintry Brixton, the art was definitely celebrated and provided an interesting conversation upon the differences and similarities amongst the work being shown. From colours to darkness, abstract to minimalism, there was something for everyone.

With an initial focus on London-based photographers. we expanded it to everywhere else. We wanted to see incredible photography from incredible artists everywhere. We found them! The 17 participants of #lofipostershow 2021 were superb. Here is a summary:
