Studio 73 is a Brixton based art space, hosting the best in contemporary art & home to #lofipostershow
Absolutely loving Amanda Houchen’s large scale colourful abstract paintings. The artist is scaling up.
The paintings, buoyant and punchy with character, really brighten a place up.
There is also a great sense of freedom coming across in her work. It’s an absolute pleasure to showcase Amanda, here at Studio 73.
In her words; ‘I grew up in London, but didn’t get into painting until quite late, having originally studied English for my BA. I’ve been painting now for ten years, having done an MA in Fine Art at City & Guilds School for Art and have worked in several different studios around London. I’m currently based in South London, in the second year of the art course Turps and Banana https://www.turpsbanana.com/art-school
I would love to have my work show in the US, New York or LA.’
