#lofipostershow is back!

After an eventful run in December 2020, we are excited to announce that #lofipostershow is coming back!

Imagine a flash pop-up exhibition where local photographers present their work in the outdoors. Unusual locations and an abundance of creative minds lead to a fast-paced show where photographic art was everywhere to be seen.

Across November 2021 we will be taking large 60×40″ poster prints out onto the streets and attaching them to the sides of various structures in London (using magnets!) for the purposes of documentation and to present the work to unsuspecting eyes in a new fast-moving pop-up show format.

The photographic work, featuring innovative UK and international artists, will be presented in a 4 day exhibition. This runs from Thursday 2nd December until Sunday 5th December at Arch 21, Valentia Place, Brixton SW9 8PJ.

Our preview evening is Thursday 2nd December from 6pm until 10pm. Be sure to book a free ticket via this link where every attendee will get a complimentary drink upon arrival. Spaces are limited.

The themes for this season’s show is abstract, form and nature. Works will be available for purchase.

As our 10-year residency draws to a close in Brixton Village – we will be toasting our time there by handing over the space to a selection of artists who have played a key part in our success in the market.

Starting with Craig Keenan at the end of August, we then welcome Jackie Clark, Jason Gibilaro & David C West to the ranks on Friday 4th September.

Popular south London artist Martin Grover will be doing a residency from Monday 7th until Sunday 13th of September. Martin will have prints available and will also be creating art in the space.

As will Marie Lenclos, who had a fantastic show with us last December. Marie will be creating in the space from Monday 14th until 20th September.

Amy Gardner has had an amazing year in terms of her art. Amy is getting attention from across the art world, so it gives us great pleasure to announce she will be doing a creative residency in Studio 73 from the 21st September until the 27th. Amy will also have a wide range of her prints available to view and purchase.

We will then conclude our time in the market with a show by Adrian Flower with a collection of photography of market traders past and present.

There will be a final celebration on Friday 2nd October…. and Then! Exit!

Studio 73 will continue to bring you the very best in the emerging art scene, so keep an eye on our channels, there will be lots online and there are plans for pop up shows across London.

#lofipostershow

#lofipostershow came to life as a bunch of locally based photographic artists came together to see their work blown up and presented outside in Brixton, south London.

After a test show in December 2021, it has given us the exciting opportunity to do more outside pop up shows. So watch this space!

#lofi artwork can now be purchased as A1 or A2 posters, printed on FSC 130gsm paper. The current #lofi price is £100.00 including delivery to any UK address.

We plan to change the artwork periodically, and the rules of #lofipostershow dictate that work cannot be made available ever again at a lowly #lofi price point.

Themes will change as we develop the #lofi idea and plan further pop ups across London. So keep tuned. Let’s go outside, let’s #lofipostershow

Artist Takeover

Over the space of a year in 2019, Studio 73 launches a superb show for our artists to make the gallery into their own.

The walls and windows are blank canvases to hang up artwork that supplies a message, captures your attention and allows the artist to interpret their work the way they want to.

In a fast-moving show format, our artists had a week to exhibit their creations in the gallery for all to see in Brixton Village Market.

Barrie J Davies starts us off in March with Marie Lenclos closing it in November. Celebrating the summer with Ted Dave’s photography to keeping warm in wintry Brixton with Amanda Houchen’s contemporary pieces.
